A Yellowknife bar has expressed frustration after some of its distinctive glasses went missing.
Coyote’s Steakhouse and Lounge is known for offering some of its drinks in oversized glass boots. But now, those boots appear to have walked.
“Sadly, we are down to only two boots,” the bar posted on Facebook late on Thursday. “Some individuals liked them so much that they had to walk out with them.”
On most nights, Coyotes owner Ed But does an inventory count to see if everything inside the bar is accounted for. Over the last two nights, almost all of the bar’s glass boots have gone missing – and replacing them won’t be cheap.
“We started with a dozen and I’ve ordered another dozen from the States,” But told Moose FM. “The only problem is we can’t get them in Canada which is funny.
“I have to order them from the States and then I have to pay customs and everything so by the time they get here they cost me $80 apiece.”
But says he likes to have the boots as a novelty item and knows many of his patrons enjoy them.
Coyote’s wants people to keep watch for any of the boots popping up around the city – and asks anyone with a boot to “bring it back, no questions asked”.
