E.N.R: Sport fishing licenses now available online

Yellowknife, NWT – Residents and visitors to the Northwest Territories can now purchase sport fishing licences online.

That’s according to the G.N.W.T’s Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

The online service will allow residents and visitors to purchase and print their sport fishing licences from home or in public.

Communications Manager Judy Mclinton with E.N.R says people can also upgrade licences later in the season if they decide to fish in special management areas.

“If there are people who need to register for special management area endorsement on their sport fishing license, they can do that online as well. We have special management areas in the Northwest Territories where you need approval to be able to fish there.”

The department says improvements to online services support the 17th Legislative Assembly’s goal of a more effective and efficient government.
