Voting is now open for Living Lakes Canada’s annual Lake Biodiversity Photo Challenge.
This is the fourth year that the contest has been run. It is designed to help showcase the beauty and diversity of Canada’s various lakes. So far, over 400 photos have been submitted, with many also coming from the NWT and Yukon.
An online gallery is available for the public to look through and vote on their favourite photos in the four different categories. The four categories are:
- Lake Landscapes, for most beautiful pictures
- Lake Biodiversity, for showing different plants and animals
- Lake Impacts, for showing visible threats to the health of a lake, and
- Youth Category, for pictures submitted by photographers under the age of 16.
Public voting for the contest will be wrapping up on World Photography Day, August 19th. The top photos voted on by the public will be announced early in September, alongside the winners selected by judges.
Votes can be cast by clicking here.
