Yellowknife, NWT – The city of Yellowknife is hosting its annual community barbecue Thursday night.
The celebration is open to the public and free to attend.
It will include children’s activities, a bouncy castle and live entertainment performed by local musicians.
In a news release, Mayor Mark Heyck says the barbecue is being hosted in the evening this year to get more residents out.

He says the evening will also provide Yellowknifers with the chance to mingle with city employees.
Anyone interested is encouraged to head to the Somba K’e Civic Plaza between 5 and 7pm.
