Hay River RCMP responded to two “high-risk” incidents involving firearms in the span of an hour Sunday.

At approximately 10:35am, police responded to a report of an assault. Upon arrival, they discovered that the suspect was armed.

RCMP say they were able to arrest the person and seize a shotgun safely.

A second incident was reported at approximately 11:10am, when police responded to a report of a “distraught individual” with a firearm.
