Police investigate break-ins at Hay River churches

Police in Hay River are investigating break-ins at two town churches on the same street.

RCMP were already examining an apparent break-and-enter at the St Andrew Anglican Church, on Woodland Drive, when they were told the Our Lady of Assumption Roman Catholic Church had been damaged.

A window at the Assumption Church was broken. At the Anglican Church, someone broke into a sea can, storage container and shed on church property.

Police believe both incidents took place on Friday or Saturday last week. They say it’s not clear if anything was taken.
