1992 Giant Mine bomber, Roger Warren, granted day parole

Yellowknife, NWT – The man convicted of the 1992 fatal Giant Mine bombing in Yellowknife has reportedly been granted day parole.

Roger Warren was convicted in 1995 of the underground bombing at the mine that killed nine workers during a bitter labour dispute.

Warren, now 70, has been in prison for 18 years.

He has been eligible for day parole since October 2010 and full parole since last October, but this was the first time Warren applied for a conditional release.
