Yellowknife RCMP Still Searching for Key Evidence in Double Homicide Case

The Yellowknife RCMP has been able to share some more information regarding the double homicide that took place over the weekend, as well as an update on the state of their investigation.

In a communication from RCMP Media Relations Officer Cpl. Matt Halstead, he was able to share that no arrests or charges have been made at this time. The investigation has shown that this case was a targeted incident related to the illicit drug trade in the city, and that the surrounding neighbourhood is not likely under any threat.

In the initial release, the RCMP stated that they believe someone in the Bigelow Crescent area could have doorbell or home surveillance footage that will be able to help identify a suspect in the case. Cpl. Halstead’s update states that nobody has come forward with any evidence yet, but that the investigators are encouraging anyone with information to reach out to the police as soon as possible.
