Three people are in custody after a Yellowknife taxi driver was assaulted and robbed Friday morning.

At approximately 3am, RCMP received a report of a fight involving a cab driver on Bigelow Crescent, just off Kam Lake Road.

The driver sustained minor injuries and had personal items stolen from them during the dust-up. The vehicle’s rear window was also broken.

Police say the suspects fled the scene but were found shortly afterwards. One man and two youths are in custody and are scheduled to appear in court later Friday.

This is the second such attack on a Yellowknife taxi driver this year.
