Yellowknife Primary Care Facility Temporarily Closed Due to Flooding

Yellowknife’s Primary Care Facility has been temporarily closed down after a flood occurred over the weekend.

The cause of the flood is not yet known, and many details have yet to be shared. The news was initially shared by the N.W.T. Health and Social Services Authority. The main location affected by the flood is the building and spaces where primary care staff operate at 4915 48 street.

The NTHSSA has said that anyone who has appointments with the Facility throughout the week will be contacted to have further arrangements made. Some appointments may end up being moved to the Frame Lake Community Health Clinic on Old Airport Road.

This incident comes just after the Stanton Territorial Hospital began experiencing several on and off periods of not having enough beds for patients.
