Northwestel Upgrades Internet Service in Dettah

Northwestel is continuing work on their “Every Community Project” and have provided an upgrade to their previous work in Dettah.

On December 19th, the telecommunications company connected Dettah to its newly built fibre line that extends to Dettah from Yellowknife along the Ingraham Trail. This upgrade allows the community to receive up to 500 Mbps speeds and unlimited data.

Northwestel first launched in-community fibre Internet to Dettah last year which upgraded the community from 15 Mbps to 50 Mbps speeds with the option for unlimited monthly usage. Now, with the full fibre transport powering the community, Dettah has access to internet speeds of up to 500Mbps.

The Every Community Project is a 3-year project to bring high speed unlimited Internet to 10,000 homes across the Northwest Territories and Yukon. The improvements are funded by the CRTC Broadband Fund as well as Northwestel’s own significant investments.
