Yellowknife Shares Holiday Hours of Operation for City Facilities & Services

The City of Yellowknife has shared their Holiday hours for City-run facilities.

City Hall will be closed on December 25th and 26th, as well as New Year’s Day, with no other changes to the schedule.

The Public Library will be closed from December 24th to the 26th, as well as December 31st and January 1st.

The Solid Waste Facility will be closed from December 24th to the 26th.

The Ruth Inch Memorial Pool will only be closed on Christmas Day, and will see reduced hours from December 23rd to January 2nd.

The Multiplex will be closed on Christmas Day, and see reduced hours from Christmas Eve to New Year’s Day.

The Fieldhouse will be closed on Christmas Day, and will have reduced hours from December 23rd to January 1st.

The Visitor Centre will not close at all, and will only see reduced hours from December 24th to January 1st, opening at 10:00 am every day within that time period.

Finally, the Yellowknife Community Arena will be completely closed from December 23rd to January 1st.

Additionally, the City has also shared the holiday schedules for certain services, such as garbage pickup and public transit.

Black Cart Collection for January 1st will be picked up the following day on Tuesday January 2nd. Green cart collection for compost on December 25th will instead take place on December 26th. Sewage Pumpout that would normally take place on Christmas and on New Year’s day will instead take place on December 26th and January 2nd. Water Delivery that would normally take place on Christmas and on New year’s day will instead take place on December 24th and 31st. Christmas Trees will be accepted at the Solid Waste Facility free of charge during the month of January.
