Registrations Open for Annual Walk to Tuk Challenge

Registrations are officially open for the 2024 Walk to Tuk Challenge.

Walk to Tuk is an annual community walking challenge hosted by the NWT Recreation and Parks Association (NWTRPA). 2024 marks the 14th anniversary of Walk to Tuk. Community members, schools, and workplaces are encouraged to form teams and conceptually walk the length of the Big River, a distance of 1,658km from Zhatıé Kų́ę́/Fort Providence to Tuktuuyaqtuuq/Tuktoyaktuk. Participants have from January 1 to February 29, 2024, to get their team to Tuktuuyaqtuuq.

Starting on December 1st, teams can regiset online at walktotuk.com. The deadline to register is on January 15th, and every successful NWT participant will receive a free Walk to Tuk toque. Walking times and distances will be submitted to the same website.

Every Monday, times or distances will be checked by the Walk to Tuk admin team and participants who successfully input new times will be eligible for weekly prizes. Even more prizes will be available to any team who manages to double the challenge.
