After a several week long hiatus, blasting operations near the public boat launch at the Giant Mine site is scheduled to resume next week.
According to the GNWT, work is expected to continue in the area until the end of November, causing temporary closures and delays in access to the boat launch.
The contractor charged with the project is required to provide a 24-hour notice of blasting taking place with signage located close to the site.
Residents are reminded that access to the Giant Mine site is restricted at all times, and a project team will monitor the site 24 hours a day to ensure the site’s security.
