Municipal Enforcement Officers will be present around school zones, conducting enforcement operations, and working to ensure school safety. 30 km/h speed limits in school zones in Yellowknife are in effect 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and speeding fines are doubled. Drivers should exercise caution in school zones including watching for pedestrians, obeying speed limits and not driving distracted.
