AVENS residents to return from Edmonton, charters scheduled until Friday

Senior community housing project, AVENS Yellowknife has released a letter regarding the status of repatriation for AVENS residents from the Edmonton area. 

According to AVENS, the return process for residents is scheduled to begin today, September 13, through Saturday, September 16th, with four separate daily charters set to leave during the process. 

“Each charter will play a crucial role in reuniting our residents with their familiar surroundings and the compassionate care of our dedicated staff,” AVENS CEO Daryl Dolynny says. 

AVENS has not released an exact number of residents affected by the repatriation; however, the facility currently operates 32 independent housing units and 29 long-term care beds.
