The RCMP only received one call for service in Yellowknife as patrols continue across the territory in the absence of residents during the 2023 wildfire evacuations.
The call in Yellowknife was the only service call in the three communities actively patrolled in the NWT.
The call was confirmed to be non-criminal in nature and there continues to be no confirmed reports of break and enters. Officers continue to patrol Yellowknife, Ndilǫ, Dettah and the Ingraham Trail.
In Fort Smith, aircraft patrols continue to be heavily impeded by smoke and reduced visibility. Conditions will be evaluated throughout the day today.
Officers continued to make patrols in Hay River and KFN despite uncertainty as the wildfire in the area creeps closer to the community. The RCMP says the continued presence of officers will be assessed due to the anticipated major wind event this weekend.
