The wildfire nearing the Ingraham Trail remains out of control and was last measured at 40,667 hectares burned.
According to NWT Fire, the flames have presented a risk to numerous cabins near Duncan Lake, Neck Lake, and Island Lake; however, residents of the Ingraham Trail are not at an immediate threat.
NWT Fire says winds are expected to push the flames to the north and west, away from any cabins and clearer skies should give air crews the opportunity to take the fight to the sky.
A small chance of rain is expected in the area later today, but NWT Fire says relief from showers is expected to be minimal.
So far, three structures have been lost in the flames early in the fire’s progression, but crews have not reported any additional losses recently.
