The wildfire that sprung up last evening outside Yellowknife has been declared under control.
Crews were quick to action the blaze and focus can now shift back to the flames in Behchokǫ̀ communities.
“Good work crews,” NWT Fire says.
According to NWT Fire, the highway remains open and there is no threat to the capital.
The fire is not ‘out’ and crews will continue monitoring the flames throughout the day.
