Deline RCMP Respond to Housefire

Early in the morning on July 26th, the Délı̨nę RCMP received a complaint of a house on fire within the community.

Once officers arrived at the scene, they were able to determine that all of the residents had safely evacuated. Officers then proceded to evacuate nearby residences as a safety precaution. Only one officer suffered any injuries, with minor burns as a result of falling debris and embers. He was treated at the site.

The Délı̨nę Fire Department was mobilized and were able to put out the fire, but the home suffered extreme damage. The cause of the fire is not yet known, but the Fire Department and the Office of the Fire Marshal are currently investigating with the help of the RCMP, who are providing security to the site.
