The lightning-caused fire between Behchokǫ̀ and Yellowknife continues to hold at 14,340 hectares in size approximately 11km from Highway 3 at kilometre marker 280.
According to NWT Fire, there is no threat to communities at this time, however as Yellowknifers may notice, smoky conditions have plagued the city today.
NWT Fire adds the fire may be visible from Yellowknife and Behchokǫ̀ at times, and is highly visible to those in the Awry Lake area.
While Highway 3 remains open, anyone travelling through the area is advised to proceed with caution as there may be delays and crews at work.
