Yellowknife RCMP respond to Break and Enter in Avens Pavilion

On July 9th, 2023, Yellowknife RCMP received a call that someone had broken into the construction site break room at Avens Pavilion.

That day, workers reported to the police that several items were missing from the breakroom.

Later in the day, workers on site say they noticed a man moved the construction fence and entered the work site. Workers promptly spoke with the man and told him he was not allowed to be inside the fencing.

According to reports, workers took a photograph of the man and provided it to the police who located and arrested him. 

During a search, police identified the items that were stolen from the breakroom were on his person. Charges of possession of stolen property are currently pending.
