GNWT extends nomination period for Accessibility and Inclusion award

The GNWT is extending the nomination period for the 2023 Minister Responsible for Persons with Disabilities’ Award for Accessibility and Inclusion.

The award is given annually and provides an opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of an outstanding volunteer, community member, or business that has made efforts to make the territory more accessible for persons with disabilities.

Originally the award winner was to be recognized during National ‘AccessAbility’ Week in Canada, (the week of May 28th to June 3rd) and the GNWT has not provided an explanation to why the date has been changed.

Residents can nominate an individual, group, or business by visiting the Department of Health and Social Services website and submitting a filled out nomination form to [email protected].

The deadline for nominations is Friday, June 30, 2023 and the winner of the award will be acknowledged during a ceremony in August later this year.
