Early in the morning on June 6th, 2023, Inuvik/Tuktoyaktuk RCMP executed a search warrant in four residences in an apartment complex in Inuvik.

An undisclosed quantity of crack cocaine was seized, along with paraphernalia, cash, and an unsecured firearm.

As a result of RCMP findings, two individuals from Inuvik (one female and one male) and one male from Toronto were taken into police custody and are facing charges related to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

A follow-up search was conducted and resulted in the seizure of what RCMP are calling a “substantial” amount of cash, supporting trafficking charges laid on the three individuals.

The two Inuvik locals have been released, scheduled for court in September. However, the Toronto man is currently being held and is scheduled for a bail hearing on June 8th, 2023.
