Yellowknife RCMP Arrest Male over Drugs and Single Firearm

Yellowknife RCMP have just arrested an individual over the possession of drugs and firearms.

During the week of May 22nd, the Yellowknife RCMP General Investigative Services, began an investigation into trafficking in a controlled substance.

They believed that a male citizen was in possession of a firearm. He was taken into custody without incident, and during the following search, it was revealed that he did indeed have a small quantity of crack cocaine, cash and a loaded handgun.

27-year-old Trent T’seleie has been charged with Possession of a loaded restricted firearm, Possession of a weapon obtained by crime, Knowingly possessing a prohibited/restricted firearm, Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and Possession of proceeds of crime.

In addition, T’seleie faces another 8 charges relating to the possession and concealment of a restricted firearm. T’seleie is currently being held in custody with his next court appearance scheduled for June 20, 2023.

Contaminated soil detected at a Yellowknife school
