Hay River RCMP are currently investigating the death of a man near Enterprise.
On May 15, at approximately 7:45 pm, Hay River RCMP and EMS were dispatched to the scene of an injured male in Enterprise. Despite life-saving measures being attempted, the 31-year-old male was declared deceased shortly after they arrived.
Investigators are still looking in to how the man may have died. They believe he may have been riding in a golf cart and fell off somehow. The driver of the golf cart was temporarily detained by police, but was later released with no charges. Hay River RCMP, with the assistance of an RCMP traffic collision analyst, are continuing their investigation to determine if there is any criminal culpability associated with this incident.
NT RCMP are encouraging Northern drivers to exercise more caution, since there have been a number of vehicle-related fatalities in the last week. They remind drivers and passengers to not be in the vehicle with a drinking driver, to wear their seatbelt (helmets on ATVs and snow machines), and to obey traffic laws.
