All residents in Hay River must evacuate immediately if they haven’t done so already, as an evacuation order was issued by the GNWT due to the nearby wildfire. Registration will be held at both at the Hay River Community Centre and the Yellowknife Multiplex. Any residents who require assistance leaving the area should should register at the Hay River Community Centre.
While evacuees are being encouraged to stay with family and friends, an evacuation centre for anyone who is without accommodations will be set up at the Yellowknife Multiplex. All evacuees entering the Yellowknife multiplex must be registered.
