Yellowknife Tim Horton’s raises nearly $16,000 on Camp Day

Yellowknife, NWT – A handful of northern youth will get to go to camp thanks to Yellowknifers this week.

Wednesday was Tim Horton’s camp day where proceeds from every coffee sale help send a deserving kid to camp.

Suzanne Desfosses is co-owner of the Tim Horton’s in town.

We asked her how much money was raised this year.

“This year, our total was $15,704.95 and in my educated guess we’ll hit over $16,000, so we’re up almost $1,800 from last year and we had a great year last year too.”

Desfosses says Rangers, R.C.M.P officers and members of the military all helped out on Wednesday.

She says the money raised will send four Yellowknife youth to camp for an experience of a lifetime.

Desfosses says this total ranks in the top five in terms of total money raised for camp day at the location.
