GNWT Joins In on National Addictions Awareness Week

The NWT is joining the rest of the country in recognizing National Addictions Awareness Week.

National Addictions Awareness Week (NAAW) takes place across Canada every year during the third week of November. National Addictions Awareness Week is an important opportunity to focus on the risks associated with alcohol and other drugs and share information about prevention and recovery. This year, the theme is A Community of Caring, focusing on the ways communities in Canada are supporting people who use substances or are living with a substance use disorder.

National Addictions Awareness Week is an important opportunity to focus on the risks associated with alcohol and other drugs, and share information about prevention and recovery. 

Throughout the week of November 20 to 26,residents can use the hashtags #CommunityCaring and #NAAW2022 on social media to share how their community is helping.

Residents in need of help can visit their community counsellor, wellness worker, or local health centre.
