CIBC Commits $75k to Stanton Hospital from Mud Run

The CIBC Bank in Yellowknife just held a cheque presentation for the results of the recent Run for Our Lives event!

The Run For Our Lives event has been running since 2005, and every year, they have been collecting money from the community to put towards cancer research in the NWT. While it initially started as a means to fight against breast cancer specifically, the fight was expanded in 2014 to include all forms of cancer.

As of 2022, the organization has raised over 1.4 million dollars and continues to give back to the Stanton Territorial Hospital’s Cancer Care Unit.

A spokesperson for the CIBC shared his thoughts on how the Run For Our Lives event played out this year.

“It was fantastic. The best participation we’ve had in a multitude of years. It’s also great that, post COVID, we’re starting to see these activities, and it’s also for a great cause, which serves our communities all across the north.”

While the total amount of money raised from this year’s Mud Run has yet to be announced, the CIBC has still committed $75,000 to the Stanton Territorial Hospital. The philosophy behind the CIBC Run for Our Lives as is the case with all Stanton Territorial Hospital Foundation fundraising initiatives, is that funding raised in the north stays in the north.
