Old Town tourism app now available to more northerners

Yellowknife, NWT – The first app devoted to tourism promotion for Yellowknife’s Old Town is now available to Apple users.

The Yellowknife Old Town app was launched on May 1 and was only available to android devices until now.

The tourism tool was put together by Rosanna Strong, owner operator of the Strong Interpretations tour company.

She explains what it’s all about.

“It’s a multi-disciplinary walking tour app that uses sound from the Old Town area so there’s a narrator, a variety of Old Town voices and music.”

Strong says she’s happy with the initial response from android users and is looking forward to hearing feedback from Apple users now that it’s available on iTunes.

She says it’s a good way for Yellowknifers, newcomers and tourists to explore news areas and see them from a new perspective.
