RCMP Update on Yellowknife Bomb Threat

Yellowknife RCMP have released an update on the recent bomb threat at St. Patrick High School.

After evacuating the building due to a bomb threat on February 10th, Yellowknife RCMP conducted a search of the entire school for any device, or evidence of the culprit. After a thorough search, no device or explosive of any kind was found. The identity and motive of the person behind the threat are still being investigated.

RCMP were initially contacted around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, and the entire St. Patrick High School, as well as the Weledeh Catholic School, were safely and systematically evacuated. Nobody was harmed in this incident.

Students were sent home for the day, and the police began their investigation with the help of the “G” Division Police Dog Service.

Anybody who may have information on this incident are asked to contact the RCMP at 669-1111.
