Three Males Charged in Fort Simpson Housefire

Three Fort Simpson males have received arson charges as a result of a house fire that took place in 2021.

In the morning of August 22nd, 2021, Fort Simpson RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious residential fire located north on 100th Street.

The Fire Department quickly arrived on the scene, and were able to extinguish the blaze. The fire was contained to an unoccupied unit which was attached to a GNWT duplex. Nobody was injured in the incident.

The NWT’s Fire Marshall office, as well as the Fort Simpson RCMP, immediately began an investigation, which has resulted in arson charges being laid at the feet of two male youths, and one adult male.

Their first court appearance is scheduled for March 16th in Fort Simpson Territorial Court.

The Fort Simpson RCMP have extended their thanks to all members of the public for assisting in their investigation.
