January 24th COVID Update

Here are the latest COVID numbers, for January 24th.

According to the GNWT’s COVID-19 dashboard, there are currently 1,034 active cases across the territories. 1,034 are found in NWT residents, with 52 in non-residents. There has so far been a total of 4,879 cases, with 3,831 now resolved.

By community, there are currently 496 cases in the Yellowknife area, 143 in Tłı̨chǫ, 140 in the Beaufort Delta area, and 44 in Sahtu. Dehcho currently has 93 cases, Hay river has 76, and Fort Smith has 42.

There have now been 72 hospitalizations, 21 admissions to the ICU, and 14 deaths.

At the time of the latest report, 77 percent of the NWT population has been fully vaccinated.

GNWT issues closure caution for Nahanni Butte Winter Rd

Department of National Defence hosting public info sessions beginning Monday

The Department of National Defence will be presenting information to the public on proposed infrastructure investments beginning the week of April 20. The department is scheduled to present at a committee meeting at city hall on Monday followed by in-person meetings in Inuvik and Yellowknife.
