Suspect Arrested in Hay River Death Case

After a week-long search, a man has been arrested in relation to a suspicious death in Hay River.

Hay River RCMP were first notified of this death around 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 16th. Officers were called to a location along Lagoon Road, just north of the community of Hay River, where the body of a 24 year old male from Hay River, was located.

On January 20, 2022, a Canada wide arrest warrant was issued for the apprehension of 23 year old Riley Jordan Moyah.

Moyah was arrested in Alberta on Friday evening, January 21, 2022. He will be returned to the NWT to appear in Territorial Court next week.

The RCMP would like to thank the public for their assistance in this investigation.
