January 21st COVID Update

Here are the latest COVID numbers, for January 21st.

According to the GNWT’s COVID-19 dashboard, there are currently 1,365 active cases across the territories. 1,306 are found in NWT residents, with 59 in non-residents. There has so far been a total of 4,700 cases, with 3,322 now resolved.

By community, there are currently 696 cases in the Yellowknife area, 219 in Tłı̨chǫ, 147 in the Beaufort Delta area, and 73 in Sahtu. Dehcho currently has 85 cases, Hay river has 84, and Fort Smith has 61.

There have now been 72 hospitalizations, 21 admissions to the ICU, and 13 deaths.

At the time of the latest report, 77 percent of the NWT population has been fully vaccinated.
