Bonus drug bust for Yellowknife RCMP nets four arrests

Police enjoyed an unexpected and convenient drug bust on Wednesday night in Yellowknife.

RCMP members working on a totally different investigation noticed something suspicious about a couple of vehicles in a parking lot on Range Lake Road.

They went over to check it out and ended up arresting four people for drug-related offences – including one individual who tried, and failed, to escape on foot.

Packages of cocaine and five fentanyl pills are believed to have been seized.

So far, two of the four have been charged. They are 24-year-old Patsy Novolikgak and 19-year-old Todd Dube – the latter facing arrest as part of a Yellowknife drug bust for the second time in two months.

Charges are pending against the others.
