7 new COVID-19 cases across the NWT on November 16th

In the latest update from the Office of the Chief Public Healh Officer, it was announced that their are seven new COVID-19 cases in the NWT.

There are currently 139 active cases across the territory, with the highest numbers coming out of Tuktoyaktuk, which has 103 active cases. Additionally, Inuvik currently has 19 active cases, while the Yellowknife region has 14. Only two active cases are currently in Behchoko, and one in Fort Smith.

NWT Species at Risk says the threats faced by barren-ground caribou are “unprecedented.” Their first ever progress report on the barren-ground caribou was released Thursday. The five year review includes eight distinct caribou herds from those in stark decline, like the Bathurst and those that appear to be increasing, like the Beverly herd. Some barren ground caribou herds listed in the report are more at risk than others, each having separate management plans.
