R.C.M.P thank public, media for helping locate missing Behchoko girl

Yellowknife, NWT – Behchoko R.C.M.P say they are pleased to advise the public that a missing teen has been located.

The Mounties say 15-year-old Lindsey Sage made contact with her family Friday afternoon after the public was alerted of her disappearance.

Sergeant Barry Ledoux says a quick response from the public brought the situation to a successful conclusion.

“With the help of the media, the public was made aware of this individual and we were able to locate the young girl so all is good today.”

Police say Sage had not returned to her home since May 22.

They suspected she was staying with friends in Yellowknife but due to her young age police and family were concerned for her well-being.
