27 new cases of COVID-19 in NWT

There have been 27 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the territory since September 20th.

There are now 238 active cases among residents in the territory. 141 of those are in Yellowknife, while 51 are in Behchokǫ̀ and 30 are in Whatì.

The total number of cases related to the Sahtu outbreak is at 712.

A total of 469 cases have been resolved – 460 NWT residents and seven out-of-territory cases.

The total number of hospitalizations associated with the current outbreak is now at 23. The Office of the Chief Public Health Officer says 78 percent of those hospitalized were not fully vaccinated.

Since the start of the outbreak, 11 NWT residents have been admitted to the ICU.
