Squash pros head to Yellowknife’s Racquet Club for NWT Championships

Yellowknife, NWT – Five professional squash players will be descending on Yellowknife’s Racquet Club for the territorial championships this week.

We reached pro squash player Graeme Schnell from Calgary, who is flying in for the tournament Thursday morning.

We asked him about his training regimen leading up to this week.

“You don’t want to enter the tournament when you’re sore from too much training so you have to account for that. For this tournament I bumped up my training load the last three weeks and I’m taking it a little easier this week to make sure I’m fresh and healthy for the tournament.”

Schnell is the two-time defending champion but he says the competition gets better every year.

The territorial championships will run until Sunday.
