Three Percenters and the Aryan Strikeforce among four new additions to Canada’s terrorist list

Three groups and one individual were designated as terrorist groups by the federal government today(Friday).

Ideologically motivated violent extremist groups, the Three Percenters and the Aryan Strikeforce were added to the Criminal Code list as well as the Daesh affiliate, the Islamic State Democratic Republic of the Congo.

American neo-Nazi Jason Mason, who provided ideological and tactical instruction on how to operate a terrorist group, was added to the list.

This marks the second time an individual has been added to the Criminal Code list of terrorist entities.

Freezing of chambers at Yellowknife’s Giant Mine to begin this summer

The Giant Mine remediation project team says thermosyphons are going to be installed at the underground chambers this summer. Currently, 237,000 tons of arsenic remain stored in the chambers on site. Crews are finishing internal work inside the new water treatment plant at Giant Mine. Commissioning activities are scheduled to start later this year and full operation of the new water is scheduled to begin in 2027.
