The City of Yellowknife’s citywide fire ban has been lifted following overnight rain.

A ban had been reinstated on Friday, but the city says recent rainfall is enough to reduce immediate fire danger in the area.

The territorial government hasn’t provided an update on the fire ban that remains in place at the Fred Henne and Yellowknife River territorial parks.

The city has so far been under a fire ban from late May till June 3, and June 12 till June 15.
