Yuk Yuk’s returns to Yellowknife with local talent

Yellowknife, NWT – Yuk Yuk’s is returning to the N.W.T capital this week and will feature some local talent.

Yellowknife-native Alex Sparling and two other comedians will perform stand-up when the comedy company invades After 8 Pub.

We reached Sparling in Vancouver.

He believes there’s a growing appetite for comedians to come north.

“I’d say take advantage of it. I know more people want to come up to Yellowknife to do shows and the more interest there is the more these kinds of events will happen. I’d tell anyone interested in coming to take advantage of the opportunity.”

Sparling says his passion for acting and comedy runs deep.

He says it’s important for northerners to have a sense of humour, especially during winter months.

He’ll be performing on Thursday and Friday night.
