Yk1 to discuss programming and facilities survey with public

Yellowknife, NWT – Yellowknife’s Public School Board says a recent programming and facilities survey generated an excellent response.

It was circulated at the end of April to some 400 parents of Yk1 students as well as stakeholders.

Yk1 Facilities Committee Chair Heather Clarke says the board wanted to do a comprehensive review of its facilities to determine if it was delivering the best programs and services to its students.

Clarke says the next step is to go public with survey findings.

“The Facilities Committee has met and reviewed this information and is in the process of developing options and what some possible scenarios for future program delivery could look like. Those options will be discussed at two more public meetings.”

Clarke says those meetings will be held Wednesday and Thursday at Sir John Franklin School at 7pm.
