MLA’s prepare for short sitting at Legislative Assembly

Yellowknife, NWT – Education, housing and the high cost of living.

Just three of the issues Weledeh MLA Bob Bromley expects to be high on the agenda when members resume sitting at the Legislative Assembly Wednesday.

Bromley says he’ll be holding two public meetings before then to hear any concerns from constituents.

He says he expects housing to be one of them.

“There is a real housing crisis building particularly in Yellowknife. I don’t think the waiting lists have ever been longer, there are new policies from Northern Property, there are G.N.W.T policies that are failing so I think there are some real issues there.”

Wednesday will mark the first time MLA’s will sit since devolution took effect back on Apr. 1.

Bromley says he also expects a thorough review of how the territory is handling it so far.
