Tłı̨chǫ Winter Road to close temporarily due to incoming storm

The Tłı̨chǫ Government is anticipating the Tłı̨chǫ Winter Road will close to all traffic at some point over the weekend with little to no advance notice due to an incoming storm.

Weather forecasts are identifying a potential significant winter storm event for the North Slave and Tłı̨chǫ Regions.

The storm is anticipated to start late Saturday afternoon and continue through until Tuesday, March 16th.

At this time travel on the Tłı̨chǫ Winter Roads is not recommended for this weekend.

This is the second winter road closure due to the incoming storm. The Tibbitt to Contwoyto Winter Road Joint Venture announced yesterday that their winter road will be closing indefinitely Saturday night.
