NWT Legions receiving over $32k in federal funding

Three Royal Canadian Legion branches in the NWT received $32,547 in federal funding through the Veterans Organizations Emergency Support Fund.

Legions in Fort Smith, Hay River, and Yellowknife will be receiving $10,849 each to help with operational costs so they can continue providing important support for Veterans.

NWT MP Michael McLeod says the money is helping branches continue to provide their important services here in the NWT.

“Royal Canadian Legion branches have supported veterans, their families, and their communities for generations.”

The three branches will use the funds to replace charitable and other revenue lost because of the pandemic, and continue their work with Veterans and their families.
