Inuvik residential and business customers are now able to order faster Internet speeds as Unlimited Fibre Internet from Northwestel has landed in the Arctic Circle.
Inuvik becomes the second Fibre-to-the-home community in the NWT, following Hay River.
Northwestel President Curtis Shaw says he is excited to introduce Fibre Internet and unlimited data to Inuvik customers and appreciates the community’s patience with the extra measures that were put in place to complete installation.
“I want to recognize our northern employees for their tireless efforts to make Inuvik the first Canadian Fibre-to-the-home community in the Arctic Circle.”
With faster speeds, Inuvik’s new residential internet plans will deliver up to 16x faster Internet than previously offered, at the same rates available in Yellowknife. Customers can now also add unlimited data to their plan.
Inuvik residential customers can take advantage of a special introductory 25 percent discount on new Fibre Internet plans for the first four months of service.
