2021 Territorial Skilled Trade and Technology Competition to be held virtually in May

The 22nd edition of the territorial competition as well as the Career Expo will be taking place from May 3rd – 8th, however this year, it will be held virtually.

Each competitor will take part either from home, or in their respective schools/institutions space.

This decision was made to ensure the safety of staff, participants, competitors and volunteers.

The Skills Canada NWT Territorial Competition is the largest of it’s kind across the NWT in which secondary, post-secondary students as well as apprentices compete in a friendly olympic-style skills competition.

Some of the skilled trade areas that will be featured in the competition are Welding, Hairstyling, Carpentry, Photography and more.

Held in conjunction with the competition, there will be a virtual Career Expo and ‘Skilled Future’ panel with special highlights each day.

As is always the case, the top placing competitors will also have an opportunity to represent Team NWT at the Skills Canada National Competition.
